The third quarter of 2023 has shown dynamic trends for the top 5 communication apps in Ukraine on a unified platform. Here’s a closer look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Telegram saw a notable increase in both weekly revenue and downloads. Weekly revenue peaked at approximately $121K in the week of September 18, while weekly downloads reached a high of 131K in the final week of the quarter. Active users, however, experienced a slight decline from 12.8M to 12.4M over the period.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a stable performance in terms of weekly downloads, fluctuating around the 50K mark. Active users showed a slight increase, peaking at 1.57M in late August before settling at approximately 1.52M by the end of September.

Rakuten Viber Messenger experienced consistent weekly revenue, hovering around $7K, with a slight peak at $7.7K in mid-September. Downloads saw a significant jump, reaching 79K in late August. Active users increased steadily, starting at 9.4M and ending the quarter at over 9.7M.

Messenger by Meta Platforms, Inc. showed stable weekly downloads, varying between 34K and 49K. Active users remained steady throughout the quarter, averaging around 6.3M.

Getcontact witnessed a notable increase in weekly downloads, peaking at 62K at the end of July. Weekly revenue reached its highest at $44K in late July. Active users saw a peak of 1.43M at the end of July, but settled around 1.24M by the end of the quarter.
